Blast from the Past

I am feeling a bit nestalgic these days with my two big girls off to school so I thought I would share these sweet moments from the past.

In this video Breaunna is about 2 1/2 years old. I couldn't believe I caught her hole in one on video. What Luck!

In this video Gabi was dancing in between innings at Josh's baseball game. She was about 15 months old. What a cutie! She still loves to dance.

In this video Gabi is about 10 or 11 months old So Bre isn't quite 3 yet. I love the hug. So sweet.

Time for School

One down and one to go. Breaunna is already at school this morning. Gabriella will go around 12:45. God answered my prayer this morning and Breaunna woke up with an excited attitude and did well when I dropped her off. Gabi is now getting a little nervous. So is this mamma.
These days I find myself nervous to even go to the store with my children. There is so much bad in the world today. I want to protect my childrens lives and their little minds. This is a great song that I sing as a prayer and thought it was appropriate for the first day of school.

Music Video by Natalie Grant

I mentioned this song by Natalie Grant in a previous post and found a link to it. Music moves me and speeks to me when nothing else can. God has given this woman an amazing voice and testimony. Something told me this morning that someone needed this besides me.

Pictures from San Antonio

As promised, pics from our trip to San Antonio Sea World and Fiesta Texas. James and I both agreed it was a great trip and are already looking forward to doing it again. For fun details please visit my sisters BLOG. She is a great writer and I am not so good with the words. Pictures are more my thing. She's good at that too though. The pics you are about to enjoy were a combination of photos from both of us. enjoy!

The pics of Gabi and the bowl are...... you guessed it. She was sick for the first part of our 2 day trip.

Woman of Faith 2008

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Saturday session of the Woman of Faith tour 2008 in Dallas at the American Airlines Center. My wonderful friend Lyndsey Kelly had an extra ticket with her church and so I went. No kids, just me in the presence of God and about 18,000 other woman. I was moved by the music, the speakers, the dramas, and the wonderful woman around me.
The first skit could have been me. It was about a mom who thought someone had stolen her mind. She couldn't remember anything. After investigating her kids, husband and even hair dresser she concluded that her mind had been there all along but she let things cloud her mind. She decided to rest on God's promise in Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
What a great promise. I know I will be posting this so I can focus on it first thing every day.
Next was singer Natalie Grant. Words cannot describe her voice. I love music and love to sing. She has to be the best singer I have ever heard and I feel so privaledged to have seen her in person. For those of you who are itunes users, check out her song "Better Hands Now" God truly does have us and our lives in his hands and has our best at heart. It's up to us to listen and seek his will.
The theme was Infinate Grace. God's grace is shown to us in different ways. Sometimes we like the view and other times we don't. I learned that "You may not like the seat your in or even the people around your seat, but God just want's to give you a veiw."
Next was another skit. Talk about feeling like the spotlight is on you, well me! It was about fires. When we watch forest fires on TV we get angry at the person or arsenest who set the fire. Unfortunetly many of us Christians set fires with our toungues every day. We burn our husbands with hateful comments instead of loving words. We burn our children when we cut them down with our words or yell. Just as it takes time for a burn to heal, It takes time for our loved ones to forgive or forget. Saying sorry and trying to correct the hatefull words is like applying medicine to the burn. But no matter what we do, there will always be a scar from a burn. So we must be careful now, before we burn with our words, because the scaring can last a lifetime. I am asking God to help me with my words and to think before I speak. Specially to the little ones in my life whom I want to grow into confident individuals in Christ.
I am going to try to post a link now to a video on youtube that is of one of the speakers and a story we heard today. It was Awesome. I already can't wait to attend again next year and it is my hope that as many of my lady friends will attend with me as well.

Ready Set Go

Just a few more days and we are outa here. I can't wait. We made the mistake of telling the kids we were going to Sea World and they ask daily, maybe even every few hours when we are leaving. They have no measurement of time. James has had some last minute business plans that are making him want to stay behind but I am not budging. He will be coming with us and will have a blast too.
As you can see, I havn't been posting many pics. The verdict on my Nikon is that it wasn't fixable, completly destroyed. Again, thank goodness for insurance. I will be recieving a brand new D80 in 2 to 3 weeks. Stinks that its not here now cause I am going crazy without my camera.
I purchased an antique baby scale off of ebay for newborn sessions. I took a pic of Elijah on it yesterday with my old point and shoot camera. Here it is........... yes that says 21pounds. What can I say, I grow a healthy baby!

One more

I have been using Mary Kay products for about 6 years. Many consultants have tried to recruit me and failed. But a sweet girl from Church named Meagan invited me to a meeting. It was inspiring. Lots of encouragement for everyday life and not just for Mary Kay. Anyway, I decided to sign up. At first it was just for the discount on the products I already use. Then I learned about the great opportunity and saw a way to show my girls what mommy can do.

Join me on Monday August 11th at 7pm at my home to give me a great kick off to my new business. If you want a peek at the product before the party or just want to place an order you can visit my website right now. www.marykay.com/lauriemelissa

Gabi's Four

My loving little Princess, Gabriella, turned 4 years old on Wednesday July 30th. Unbelievable! She is truely precious, always offering kisses, hugs and a helping hand. She is so sensitive and compationate. A wonderful big sister. And now on her way to pre-k. My the time flys by so quickly.
We enjoyed her birthday by swimming at Aunt Shaunnas (MIL's) house also known as Grandma Pat. THANKYOU! Aunt Shaunna got her ready for that first trip to school by giving her a My Little Pony backpack and a blue uniform shirt. Grandma Pat did the same with an OH so Cute skirt and top for school. Mommy, Daddy, and syblings went girlie with a Hannah Montana purse, bracelets and earrings. I think Gabi enjoyed her big day.

Gabi calls this blowing a wish! too cute
